The Unknown.
Lurking within the shadows,
Thriving in the darkness,
Waiting just beyond the point,
where imagination takes control over human reasoning.
Here the uneasy silence,
amplifies the smallest sounds
and the wilderness engulfs you.
You hear that buzz in your ear,
That steady “thump, thump” of your heart.
Mechanically marching though the night,
This constant vigilance at all times,
To hear the smallest twig snap,
A rustle in the bushes,
The eerie voices coming from within the trees.
While a haunting melody plays beautifully.
